Job Title Senior Software Developer (Hadoop) Location Bellevue, WA Duration Full Time Job Responsibilities: • Lead Development of various facets of the Hadoop EDW ecosystem. • Develop and mentor others on developing Hadoop Map Reduce jobs. • Understand customer analytics needs, and translate them into pluggable Hadoop Hive UDFs/UDAFs. • Define development standards and design patterns for overall EDW Hadoop-based Development. • Prototype creative solutions quickly, and be able to lead others in crafting and implementing superior technical vision. • Provide timely and appropriate communication to business owners, stakeholders, and users on issue status and resolution. • Lead from the front, in the transformation of EDW Platform Qualifications: • Highly experienced developer in ETL Development • Strong background in Data Warehousing environment • Strong on core Java and Python scripting language • Strong on shell scripting and SQL language • Database development in an MPP DW environment is a must have with an eye for tuning and performance. • Ability to read and interpret data schemas • Proven ability to create and maintain online and printed documentation. • Proven ability to work cross functionally to deliver appropriate resolution of technical, procedural, and operational issues. • Must have strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Experience with open source technologies, especially Big Data technologies like Cassandra, Hadoop, HBase • Development experience in Java programming, object oriented design, database design, multi-threading • Experience with Data Warehousing and fluent in SQL and OLAP specification. • Proficiency in enterprise Java architecture and technologies (including JSP, JSF, Servlets, JMS, JDBC, ORM, JMX, AOP) • Proficiency in SOA principles (Interface-driven design, loose coupling, modularity, reusability, a synchronicity, high availability, scalability, etc.) Work Experience and Education Guidelines: • MS/BS degree in a computer science field or related discipline. • 5 - 7 years of solid experience with Java • Experience in leading team(s) is required. • Experience in a Data Warehousing is preferable.
