As the Advertising Analytics Manager for eBay’s Advertising business unit, you lead the effort to analyze and optimize Text and Display Advertising. You will use site transaction and ad data to inform business decisions, and develop new tests aimed at optimizing revenue. This is a high energy, high impact role for someone who can balance strategic thinking, operational precision, and analytical rigor. Key responsibilities include: Provide analytical support to the North American advertising team (third-party ads published on eBay), consulting the business team on their decisions
Coordinate A/B test activities around global text advertising, provide advertising testing analysis, and interpret the test results with varying confidence intervals. Connect the dots, see the big picture and derive recommendations.
Develop a deep understanding of the mutual impacts between eBay’s advertising and eBay’s transactions business, reliably forecast "what if" scenarios for planned changes to advertising setup for budgeting purposes
Optimize the tradeoff between advertising revenues gained and transaction revenues lost through existing optimization frameworks and make improvements to these frameworks.
Lead ad-hoc analyses to optimize yield curves, effects of varying supply and demand, text and display advertising metrics and anomalies in those metrics.
Track and monitor business metrics for all advertising revenue streams, create and maintain reports
Drive and improve upon existing weekly, monthly, and annual processes...streamline processes and reduce non value added work Job Requirements - Excellent logical thinker with solid A/B testing statistics knowledge – specifically on hypothesis testing
Ability to extract and analyze data (solid SQL and relational database systems + advanced Excel skills)
Strategic thinker who recognizes opportunities and can influence decision makers to move to execution
Proven thought leadership around complex problems – ability to present complex analysis in understandable formats to non-analysts
Ability to build effective partnerships across the internal organization at all levels
Terrific business acumen
Knowledge about business mechanics of text and display advertising a big plus
