Project Manager - Akraya Inc (Mountain View, CA)

Position Title: Project Manager Location: Mountain View, CA Duration: 6 months + Contract Job Description: Client is looking for an energetic Project Manager with a strong technical understanding of information technology and operations. This primary objective for this position will assist with the planning, managing, and tracking of the migration of our internal staff to Windows 7. This position will be the key liaison between the global IT teams, interface directly with our internal users, and will be responsible for understanding business processes, identifying and prioritizing users to improve productivity and managing this project to completion. The person will interact closely with IT management, Business leaders, architects, application developers, systems and network administrators, and support staff to assist in prioritizing, scheduling, budgeting, and deploying multiple simultaneous sub-projects. This is a fast-paced position that requires a high degree of energy and focus without compromising quality. A key success criteria will be the ability to build strong relationships with business groups and delivering value to this project within a stringent timeline. Responsibilities: • Primary driver of managing, tracking, and reporting status updates for this Windows 7 upgrade project • Lead daily scrums to set expectations and ensure progress continues • Interface directly with our end users to schedule times for to upgrade of existing hardware • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools • Monitor and resolve issues and risks; create appropriate reports and communicate status efficiently • Manage multiple sub-projects simultaneously from beginning to end • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders • Build strong relationships with the respective business teams and thoroughly understand their business processes • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path Requirements: • 4+ years direct work experience in a technical project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution • 2 years of experience in a business liaison or analyst role, including all aspects of process and technology analysis • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as AtTask or MS Project, as well as Microsoft Excel • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently • Flexible during times of change • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies • Experience with estimating costs, timelines, and resource requirements • Strong technical, written, and verbal communications skills • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline • PMP certification a plusProject Manager In order to apply for same, send me your updated resume and let me know the best time to reach you.
